10 Green Years

Today I commemorate 10 years of being a vegetarian. I still remember the day I ate my last bowl of fish porridge and decided never to consume meat again. Not because I did not like the taste of meat but because deep down, it did not feel like the right thing to do.

It was not an easy option. I come from a family that loves its meat and for a long time I had to battle fierce opposition from my parents and snide comments from friends and relatives. I suppose eventually, they caved and started accommodating me instead.

I have never regretted my decision and I'm surprised that as a 15-year-old, I had the maturity to make a life altering choice such as this.

Happy 10th anniversary to me!

cheers,

Kartik

Have I really known you that long? It seems like the vegetarian thing was pretty new when I met you...! At any rate, congrats!

Hey, it's Kenneth here.

Congrats on being a vegetarian for a decade. I know it has't been easy, especially with friends like us (Borong, Wee Seong etc). :p

Anyway, will you force your kids in future to be vegetarian or let them choose?
